Central New Caledonia (main island : Grande Terre) at low elevations (10-300m)
Description
Solitary, tall, erect, unarmed pleonanthic, monoecious palm. Emergent palm. Trunk to 30m.
Ecology
Kentiopsis oliviformis is restricted to semi-humid forest where it occurs on schists and basalts mixed with serpentine colluvium
Culture
Anthesis occurs from November through December; fruits mature from February through March. Seeds germinate immediately after dispersion.
