Habitat and Distribution

Brazil West-Central. Endemic to Cerrado habitat (very dry woodland-savanna), above 500 m altitude

Description

A small palm with very blueish pinnate leaves.

Culture

Sunny, well drained position. Drought tolerant. Cold Hardiness Zone: 9b

Comments and Curiosities

There is a glaucous, and reg. form. the glaaucous form tends to be more blueish.

"This was the very first species of Syagrus graminifolia (Syagrus graminifolia "BLUE") discovered and collected by Frank Burchell in 1846 from Goias." Dr. Larry Noblick.
