Habitat and Distribution
Clinostigma haerestigma is endemic to the Solomon islands.
Description
Trunk detail: Solitary. Hight: Under 9.5 meters, (31'), or roughly half that of other Clinostigma's. Leaf detail: Pinnately compound, with fine pinnae, pinnae very pendulous. Most Clinostigma species look very much alike, except this one. This is an extremely rare species from the Solomon Islands where it grows in high pH soils. It is shorter than most Clinostigmas only growing to about 30'. The leaflets from this palm are exceptionally droopy, appearing to falling perpendicularly from the rachis. Editing by edric.
Culture
Requirements: High PH, filtered light when young, full sun when mature, consistently moist soil, well drained position.
