A large, solitary species from rainforests in Panama to 1200 m (3900 ft.) with leaves that have relatively few large and very wide overlapping leaflets, reminiscent of Iriartea, but pinnae are evenly displayed not offset. A magnificent palm for the humid tropical garden. (RPS.com)
