CONTEST #2 BEGINS MON - JUNE 15

THE TWO PUZZLES FOR CONTEST #2 ARE BELOW

CONTEST RULES:

  • Contest #2 consists of two puzzles. This contest has a prize of $50 USD.
  • The winner of Contest #2 will be the first person to "solve" both puzzles by correctly identifying the genus and species of the palm(s) in each puzzle. (Misspellings (within reason) will be allowed)
  • Submit your answer to the puzzles by clicking on the designated area at the bottom of the page, or the discussion tab at the top. You will be taken to an area to post your answers.
  • You must be registered on Palmpedia in order to post your answer. While registration only takes a minute, final confirmation and authorization may take 24 hours, so register now if you wish to play. (Top right hand corner to register)
  • Beginning June 15, several pieces will be removed from each puzzle daily, until both puzzles are solved. The pieces will be removed at random times, so no time zone will have an advantage. Some pieces have already been removed. Please refrain from any answers until the contest begins.
  • Only one guess per 24 hours is allowed. Any others will be invalid.
  • There will be no notification or confirmation if only one puzzle is solved correctly.
  • Click the discussion tab at the top, or the banner at the bottom to post your answer. You will need to be logged in.

TIPS AND CLUES:

The only clues you will receive for this contest are:

  • These are much more difficult than Contest #1. As in Contest #1, there is one palmate palm and one pinnate palm. You can still view Contest #1 and the results for added help. Since the first contest was solved so quickly, this one has intentionally been made much more difficult. (Anyway, that is the plan, but you guys are good.)
  • Don't forget - you may still be able to click and zoom in for added detail (depending on your browser).
