Comments and Curiosities

Uses: Medicinal and cosmetic - The root extract is occasionally used for hepatitis, malaria and tuberculosis. Construction - The stem is used for the beams of the ceilings, floors and other parts of the housing; occasionally the leaves are used in the construction of roofs for the houses. Tools and utensils - root grater. Food - the leaves are used to wrap fish for cooking.
