Description

Rare and most unusual species, sporting a slender trunk, thickly clothed in very coarse and stiff, almost spine-like fibers. The small crown consists of several circular leaves, with very rigid segments, dark green above and silvery below. Editing by edric.

Culture

This palm is an absolute rarity and has hardly made it in to cultivation even though it would be an exceptional ornamental for tropical and some warm temperate climates. Prefers alkaline soil.
