Habitat and Distribution

Distribution in New Caledonia This species is located in the south of the mainland: on the eastern slopes of the Mount Nékando and Sources. habitat In the undergrowth of the rainforest. Substrate: On shallow soil more or less eroded or scree, on ultramafic substrate.

Description

Small palm tree 5 m tall, stocky, monocaule, with a trunk 10 cm in diameter, covered with prominent leaf scars and close together; presence of adventitious roots developed at the base.
