Comments and Curiosities

Native to rainforests on the Malay Peninsula between 300 and 800 m (1000 and 2600 ft.), this vigorous species forms large thickets of spiny stems to 5 cm (2 in.) in diameter. Climbing up into surrounding trees, they can reach a height of up to 20 m (65 ft.) and hold long crowns of large, flat, ascending, pinnate leaves. (RPS.com), edric.
