Re: Palmcast #1

Awesome job guys! It was super fun to listen too. I can't wait for more.MattyB 12:06, 14 June 2007 (PDT)

Excellent practical background information as well as the first-hand descriptions of the efforts involved to reach the palms. A slideshow with running commentary would be a crowning achievement, just because I already know how fantastic the photos are. One small criticism: the audio is a bit weak; Gary's voice is rather faint and echoey. Do a sound check before the next interview. Please credit the interviewer and the music clips. Looking forward to the next installment.Kim 19:20, 14 June 2007 (PDT)

  • Kim, thanks for the feedback. It's not as easy as it seems to get the sound just right. And then the files need to be adjusted and converted to a usable format. It will take a few sessions to figure out the right settings, microphone distances, etc. Hopefully each one will be an improvement over the last. Try listening again and adjusting your balance so Gary's track is louder. Let me know if that helps. I'm going to try and master it again with some different effects and see what happens. It's all Greek to me at this point. I'm glad you liked it. Dypsisdean 20:02, 14 June 2007 (PDT)

I caught the beginning of your Madagascar "slideshow with commentary". I knew you would figure it out! That's going to be outstanding when you get it all nailed down. I know there is a way to make a slideshow move continuously with a companion sound track, but unfortunately I don't know the details of how to put it together. (Big help!) I put together a "free sample" one on Photobucket once, it was pretty ragged. The advantage of course is no dead time between slides. You are probably already working on this, feel free to ignore me! Just want to encourage you to keep up the good work, it's not going unnoticed.Kim 16:30, 22 June 2007 (PDT)
