Habitat and Distribution
New Guinea. Moluccas Islands. On mountane slopes, occasionally along side streams, and swamps, from sea level to 1000 m. elev.Description
A small, clustering understory palm from the rainforests in eastern and central eastern New Guinea, with very finely pinnate leaves. Leaf detail: Pinnately compound, alternately opposed, fairly wide spaced, fine, somewhat drooping leaflets, proper lighting will yield a very green leaf. Editing by edric.

Requirements: Near full shade when young, then partial shade when mature, consistently moist soil, well drained position. keep warm, and sheltered, but it is one of the more cold tolerant of the Calytrocalyx. Cold Hardiness Zone: 10a
