Habitat and Distribution
Calyptrocalyx spicatus is found in the Molluccas Islands.
Description
Trunk type: Solitary, ringed, tall, but narrow, up to 10 inches in diameter. Leaf detail: Pinnately compound, diametrically opposed, wide drooping fronds, up to 12 foot. Flower detail: This palm has a very large, and long spadix, reaching up to 10 feet. Editing by edric.
Culture
Requirements: Filtered light when young, then full sun when mature, consistently moist soil. Special note: This palm is not wind tolerant.
Comments and Curiosities
This is one of the few in this Genus, that is solitary.
