Habitat and Distribution
Balaka longirostris is endemic to the Fiji island of Viti Levu, and occurs in various forest types,
Description
A very rare solitary palm from Fiji, with a slender trunk and wedge-shaped leaflets. Essentially a collectors item, best suited to tropical climates. (RPS.com) Editing by edric.

Warm sheltered and moist. Tropical requirements. Cold Hardiness Zone: 10b
Comments and Curiosities
"Nice looking skinny single trunked palm from Fiji with large, fish-tails shaped leaflets on short, slightly arching petioles. Fairly needy of humidity and tropical temperatures, but supposedly can tolerate zone 10b." (Geoff Stein)
