Comments and Curiosities

A medium-sized palm from rainforests in Papua New Guinea, that sports ascending to arching leaves with large, fishtail-shaped leaftlets, like P. caryotoides. While quite similar to that species, it is easily told apart by its heavier, more robust habit and red rather than purplish-black fruits. A beautiful palm for the tropics. (RPS.com)
