Codiaeum variegatum Cornutum

This croton's synonym is Banana.

Type Y, 1-1/2" x 5", - Compact bush with irregular leaves with rounded ends. Many of the leaves have a hook or prong on one side. Ground color is deep green with midrib margined golden yellow and margin of leaf similarly bordered irregularly with golden yellow.

An introduction through the late John Gould Veitch from one of the South Sea Islands. A compact growing variety with curious horn-like processes at the apex of the leaves caused by an extension of the midrib.
