Habitat and Distribution
Attalea dubia is found in Coastal rain forests of eastern Brazil, from Rio de Janeiro to Santa Catarina.Description
Needs well-drained soils. It is the most southerly growing of the Attaleas. A massive, solitary pinnate palm to 8 meters tall, with erect, dark green leaves in a shuttle-cock type arrangement. Requirements: Sunny,consistently moist, but well drained, rich soil. Will exist in tropical thru to temperate climates, but is probably not frost tolerant. Seeds are slow, hard to germinate, and you often get two seedlings from one seed. Editing by edric.
