Areca insignis is found in the rainforests of northwestern Borneo.Description
Culture
Warm, sheltered and moist.
Comments and Curiosities
There are two subspecies; Areca insignis var. insignis, Borneo, and surrounding islands. Areca insignis var. moorei, Borneo, and surrounding islands.
A small palm from the undergrowth of rainforest in northwestern Borneo. The few flat, arching leaves hold narrow leaflets that are angled towards the base of the leaf and are longest towards the tip. A palm essentially for a protected spot in the tropical garden. (RPS.com)
