Comments and Curiosities

"Clustering pinnate palm from Venezuela and Colombia... has the typical long, fishtail, grooved leaflets of the genus... very ornamental, but rare palm." (Geoff Stein)

Given the right conditions of warmth and humidity, Wettinia is one of the easiest and most satisfying palms to grow. The seeds germinate easily and quickly, and subsequent seedling growth is fast, producing a good sized palm in a short space of time. W.praemosa is the only member of the genus which clusters.
