Hi Daryl MattyB 15:04, 9 May 2007 (PDT)

Thanks Daryl,

Thanks for the photos. What a treat to have someone actually start a plam species page correctly with a pic, as you did with P. glaucafolia. The hardest part of this is getting people up to speed on how to begin correctly. Thanks again. Dypsisdean 12:46, 14 May 2007 (PDT)

Sorry about the mis-spelling

I noticed the mis-spelling of your last name. Sorry, I'll make a point to correct the rest of them, if I did the same. I bought this house I'm in from a Conner. That's why it came out that way :) Dypsisdean 14:52, 14 May 2007 (PDT)

No Worries

The surname is Irish so you expect weird spelling :)

and how do you protect your user page anyway?

  • Don't you have a tab at the top that says 'protect' and if clicked on, then says 'unprotect?' In other words, toggling back and forth between the two. Dypsisdean 12:23, 15 May 2007 (PDT)

Nope don't see the 'protect' tab. This must be only visible to admins.

  • Hmmmmm, you would think you could protect your own page. But you're right, I created an account, and no 'protect.' Maybe there is a setting somewhere, I'll look/ask around. How would you like to be a 'Sysop?' You could protect it that way for sure. You obviously know computers and are not intmidated with new technology. And I have no trouble with giving you the privledges. I would be happy to make you one, and you may or may not like to take advantage of those extra privledges. Maybe you could find out some new stuff to teach me. :) Dypsisdean 15:16, 15 May 2007 (PDT)

Hi Dean, that would be great. I can help out with the techo stuff too. The only thing is my time is limited and so any input would only be when I get some spare time...you will probably see my palmtalk posts are infrequent compared to others...not a case of 'not wanting to', just lack of opportunity due to my 'real' life..LOL

Daryl

Congratulations

You are moving up quickly in this organization. :) Don't worry about how much you can contribute. I would like to think all of us do have 'real lives.' That's the beauty of a giant group effort. A little bit, here and there, and it grows. It also helps to have people that understand and embrace the technical end of things. Aloha
